Tell about an Embarrassing Moment

Where do I start.  I can remember a time when I sent a love note to the area vice president of the company I worked for.

Before you get any ideas, let me explain.  I was sending an email to my wife, Jennifer.  There was nothing in the note that was questionable.  I started the email by addressing her as "Sweetheart".  It was a normal note, mentioning something about the day and I finished it the same way I finish all of my emails.  I wrote, "I love you." and signed it ,"Forever in Love, Joel".

Once I pressed the send button, I noticed the name on the sent to box was the name of our area vice president.  I started to panic.  One of the biggest reasons for my panic was because I had only been working there for about 3 days and I was not versed in the functions of the email server.  I desperately needed to know how to retract an email.  I fumbled my way around the page and asked another person in the room if they knew how to retract an email.  I figured it out in a few minutes and pulled the email back.

I do not know if the email was ever read by our area vice president.  I f he read it, he never told me about it.  I learned a very valuable lesson that day; always check who you are sending an email to before you press the send button.

Tell Your Favorite Vacation from your Childhood

I think that my favorite vacation as a child was to go to our family reunions. I loved top get together with all of my cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. We always had a blast.

Biggs Family Reunions

We had many different reunions that I can remember. One in particular was when we went to a lake up by my Uncle Scott's house. We camped right on a peninsula on the lake. The only way to get to the campsite was by riding on a boat. We spent the days skiing and tubing on the lake. We even found fun in running and jumping off the ledge of our campsite, into the water. The surface of the water was about 6 feet down. The only difficulty was that there was a second ledge just below the surface of the water that you would land on if you did not jump out far enough. Most of the cousins had been jumping and my sister, Emily, wanted to jump also. We coached her that she needed to jump far enough to miss the second ledge. The first time she jumped, she would start running and then stop right on the edge. She did that about 4 times. I remember telling her, I think I kind of yelled at her, that if she hesitated that she would hit the ledge below. The time she finally jumped she really did not jump; she just kind of ran up the ledge and "fell" off the edge. I remember feeling like my heart stopped. She was falling in slow motion. I was in the water below and all I could think was that she was going to hit and really hurt herself. I started to swim towards her thinking she was going to need some help. She barely missed the ledge below and was fine. I told her she was not allowed to jump again. I did not want her to temp fate again.

Miller/Johnson Family Reunions

When I was a kid some of my favorite memories were playing card games with my grandparents, uncles, and aunts. One of my favorite memories of our family reunions was when we were all around the campfire. While we were talking one of the garbage bags started moving. We found out that a skunk had crawled into the bag before my uncle tied it closed. The group all backed away from the moving bag. The rest of the trip we enjoyed playing cards and enjoying the time. We also went "snipe" hunting. We went out after dark and my uncle started hollering and we went running over and found blinking red lights in the bushes. We were all scared out of our minds.
